FAQs
Do you offer in-person or telehealth sessions?
We offer both! You may choose in-person sessions at our office or secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth appointments. Some clients choose to do a combination. Most kid sessions are in person and most parent sessions are virtual to accommodate schedules. We’re happy to talk through what might work best for you.
How Do I Get Started?
Email, call, or click on “Schedule Now” at the top of the page. We will provide you with the necessary forms to open a new client file and set up an intake session.
We ask for all forms to be submitted 2 business days before the first visit in order for us to verify insurance benefits and have time to review the files.
Please note: For any client younger than 14, a separate parent-only intake session is required.
How long are therapy sessions? How Many Sessions will I, or my child, need?
Ongoing weekly sessions typically run 53 to 60 minutes. Sessions may vary depending on your needs. The number of sessions will vary depending on need of client. This is something you can discuss with your therapist at the intake or goal setting session.
Why Choose Private Pay for Therapy?
Some clients choose to pay privately for therapy rather than using insurance. Private pay offers greater privacy, flexibility, and control over your mental health care. Insurance companies often require a diagnosis, limit the number of covered sessions, or dictate treatment approaches. By opting out of insurance, your therapy remains entirely confidential between you and your provider, and we can focus on what best supports your well-being without restrictions.
Do Parents participate in their child’s therapy?
Yes! Depending on the age and situation, parent involvement may look different. We recognize parents play the most important role in their child’s life and so we utilize parent sessions, frequent parent updates, and joint sessions when clinically appropriate.
How do I know if therapy is right for me or my child?
Therapy can be helpful for anyone experiencing emotional distress, behavioral challenges, life transitions, or relationship struggles. If you’re unsure, we offer consultations to discuss your needs and how we can help.
